Today’s (and the Weekend’s) headlines – 3 March 2009

Hope everyone has dug themselves out from the snow!

- Charlotte Observer: NC hoping for faster passenger rail to Raleigh (also in the N&O)

- Winston-Salem Journal: WSTA will switch to hybrid electric buses

- Asheville Citizen-Times: Most North Carolinians (69%) want regional rail systems, but no one wants to pay for it with a milage tax or tolls.

- New OrleansĀ  Times-Picayune: Louisiana to seek New Orleans-Baton Rouge passenger rail line from federal stimulus pot that Jindal called ‘wasteful.’

Wow! This is awesome! I just discovered this blog at The Transport Connection. I grew up in Charlotte but now live in Washington, D.C. However, over the years I have closely followed the development of Charlotte’s transit system. I even went down to Charlotte so I could be there the day Lynx opened.

So to have a blog that keeps me filled in not only about transit in Charlotte but from across my entire home state is great. I’m glad I found this. Keep up the good work.
